खुशी दूसरों को देने से मिलती है
Indian Proverb – Happiness is found in giving it to others

You are required right there!
Yes, right where you are right now.
The world, our world is a poorer place without you in it.
Your presence brings happiness to others.
You bring happiness when you make the most of the present.
Without you doing what only you do, there are some things that just won’t happen.
You bring joy to your loved ones. You bring hope to your neighbours. You inspire and motivate your work colleagues. And every so often, you rile everyone.
Yes, we all do.
We all rub people the wrong way. We have strengths and weaknesses.
We get things wrong; we get things right. We make mistakes and we do great stuff.

Imagine Michael Jordan did not play Basketball or that Michael Jackson never sang.
Imagine Michael Jordan’s teammates did not play Basketball or that Michael Jackson’s guitarists or drummers never played.
Imagine I was not taught to write or that the coffee shop close to my work did not open.
Imagine the train driver not turning up for work or the truck driver for my local supermarket decided they had had enough and were throwing in the towel.
Imagine there were no engineers for our power plants or no one to deliver the post.
Think of the Amazon van drivers, the heating engineer, the florist, the baker, the butcher, the doctor, the nurse, the pensioner, that guy down the street, the lady on the park bench, the…, YOU.
Imagine you did not do the good work you do, we will all be impoverished and hopelessly so.
Imagine you did not have those boring companions…. enough said.
Yes, we are all connected. We complement each other. We make up for strengths and weaknesses.
Big or small, everything is important.
Well-known or not, everyone is important.
Ready or not, YOU are important.

So be your best at being you. Afterall, only you can do it.
Don’t let anything weigh you down. For those, you can get help. We need you.
A few days ago, I was on a train and overheard a conversation. I would not have paid much attention until the lady who sat across from me told the person on the other end of the phone, that some person had taken their own life.
That shocked me. Big time! I thought about it for the rest of the day, and all week.
This person had left an email for a sibling in a faraway place on a different time zone. When this sibling read the email and could call for help, it was too late.
The person who took their own life had become a sad statistic. A set of statistics that Andy’s man club made me aware of at a conference I attended recently. It is really sad to see, hear or read about people who have chosen to end their own lives because of the difficult issues they may be facing.
Honestly, it does not have to be this way.
There is so much help available today. There is increasing awareness. Please speak to someone.
Now, if you have read this, enjoy your life as much as you can.
Motivate others, check on loved ones.
Talk to someone when life gets tough. Don’t go it alone.
This is for you if you haven’t found someone to discuss that issue with. It doesn’t define you.
You are worth more than you know.
You are required right there!
Yes, right where you are right now.
The world, our world is a poorer place without you in it.
I leave you with this Indian saying:
तोते की तरह बोलो, हंस की तरह ध्यान करो, बकरी की तरह चबाओ और हाथी की तरह नहाओ।
Speak like a parrot; meditate like a swan; chew like a goat; and bathe like an elephant.
